Living and working is Scotland is lovely, don’t get me wrong, but in order to keep up to date with current trends, meet new suppliers and view new products it’s essential to attend trade shows.
The London Design Festival is definitely one of the best. This year the festival was held between 20th – 27th September 2015 and throughout that period there is so much to see and do throughout the London area.
One of the newest colour trends this year includes blue and it was obvious that lots of retailers were looking ahead.
I attended a seminar hosted by Eric Cohler entitled “Luxury in a digital world” with designers Paolo Moschino, Nicholas Haslam, Phil James from Marston & Langinger, Rosie Freshwater from Leapfrog and Giles Kime from Homes and Gardens. Interesting topic, with some interesting views.
At 100% Design I attended a seminar entitled “Make social media work for you”. The stars of that presentation were designers Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead from 2 Lovely Gays. Fresh talking designers who tel it how it is!
All in all a great experience, collected plenty of brochures, obtained a few new suppliers and had fun along the way.
